A little bit of madness helps......

Its oh so quiet…..

I have been very very quiet. Maybe I should not take on a big decorating project whilst starting a course and trying to run an Etsy store. It will only lead to lack of studio time, neglecting a blog, and generally running around in circles . I feel like a cat with its ears back and a fluffed up tail.

I keep on saying this, but I so love this time of year. If I could remove summer, have Autumn earlier and extend Halloween then quite simply I would! In continuation of all things Halloween we brought this fine fellow. I am trying to think of a name, but I need to remind myself I do not need to name everything that comes through our door. I decided to put him against a tropical palm tree, I feel he looks rather happy.

I have also gone a bit crazy about bats. I feel that they the perfect accessory for any chandelier in the home.

At the moment I am working on various themes. One is for “Bump in the night” and the other is “The last show on Earth”.  Here are two heads I am working on. The larger head is for a headless bride whilst the other is a hybrid snake girl. For snake girl I may put an apple on her head which is  a biblical reference to Eve. Snake Girl is also based on a horror film that was either a  “Freaks” remake or inspired from the original film. I cannot quite remember as it was a film I saw on the horror channel a while ago. In this film the girl ended up becoming a hybrid of a snake. The original film “The Freaks” 1932 is a truly fantastic film and the ending is simply wonderfully bizarre.

The headless brides dress has been hand sewn with many layers of netting and fabric. The idea is to have the hands holding the head like a bouquet surrounded by flowers. The dress is looking very clean at the moment but I shall be adding blood effect very soon.

In other exciting news I have also become part of the rather fantastic Etsy Dark Team and Etsy Surreal Art Dolls. If you love the dark and macabre check out these rather wonderful and talented artists. You can find them at Etsy and here..

Yours from the Circus,

Sarah
