Number Thirteen.

Good afternoon,

The sun is shining and I have another cat who insists that this chair belong to him, the cat in question is called Mr Pug and he is a rather large tabby cat.

So as I am now perched precariously on the chair, I have put three items up on Etsy bringing the total to thirteen items. This week has been a rather macabre theme, and I have enjoyed delving into the darker side....Plus I also watched the rather fantastic Rob Zombies "House of 1000 Corpses".  The freak show feel and the curiosity shop was inspiring, as were the bunny costumes. Perhaps moving more towards the macabre side will be the next step?

Here are the new three items I have put up.

Introducing Norma The Squid Being......

Deep within the void lurks an unspeakable evil, such a wonder that people speak in hushed tones of the demon called Norma. Norma is a cute Extra-Dimensional Squid-Being from the Seventh Outer Void . She has been locked within the cabinet for many years but now has been unleashed in Etsy.

Veronika The Nurse....

Veronika has always wanted to be a nurse, so much so that she can always be found lurking within the shadows of the hospital corridors. Unfortunately nobody has told Veronika that the hospital closed many years ago.

Cats, chairs and night time work.

Good evening,

I decided to spend my evening doing something productive and continue to do some art work. Sometimes I really enjoy working throughout the night, there is something about the quietness whilst everyone is tucked up in bed fast asleep and you are the only one awake. My favourite time is listening to the shipping forecast on Radio Four.( I know I am strange)

So I set up my work for the evening and had some dinner when I found my seat had been already taken.....

This is Alice and Alice is one of the many cats that live with us. It seems that I am currently at war with our cats on who should get the chair.

I managed to move Alice only to find another cat who is called Cherry to take her place. I feel I am losing this battle.

In other news I have reached my first goal for Etsy and now have ten items. In the grand scheme of things that is not much; however ten will become twenty and twenty will become forty….

My work space is becoming a little more full  hopefully it will soon be more chaotic.

Bunny and Birds on Etsy.

New acts making their way on Etsy.

Introducing the Boom and Bust Brothers........

The circus asylum welcomes its brand new act the Boom and Bust Brothers. These brothers used to work in the city but due to the financial situation decided a career change was needed. Boom and Bust will shock and amaze you with their daring display on stilts and as flying acrobats.

Another new addition to the circus is Bartholomew the Bunny

Bartholomew the Bunny is known for his writing on clown etiquette. One feels it is always important (he muses) to perfect ones routine and to demonstrate good sportsmanship. Good advice for any novice clowns.

Studio time.

 Ahoy!

I had a rather productive studio day, so I thought I would share some images,

I have been working on using eyes on a brooch, and at the back is a new creature. What can it be?

Beginning of bunny head on stick, lots more will be added on. Think theatrical ruffles, ribbons and tiny bells.

Finally the Boom and Bust Brothers ( The birdies) are nearly completed as well as Bartholomew the Bunny. They will make their grand entance on Etsy this weekend.

Sarah.

Tick tock of time and studio space.

Hello,

I have realised that it has been awhile since I last blogged. In the midst of essay writing then finishing my module I feel that I have started to procrastinate a bit. So I have plenty of time before my next module and the pressure is on to finally do some serious work. I often wonder how artists manage their time between creating and promoting their work. Finding a balance is key I feel.
So I decided to sort my studio space out a bit. I am very lucky that we have a spare room in our house so I could claim it as my own. When we use to live in flats I would find a corner in a room and claim it as my art space. Studio or art spaces are very interesting to me, as they give a clue about what the artist is about.  Are you a messy artist with paper strewn all over the floor like Francis Bacon was. Or neat and tidy with everything neatly put in boxes?

This is my work space which is looking rather neat and tidy. The bunny at the back is my next piece that will go on Etsy soon.

Two birdies I am working on at the moment.

The work is slowly building up...

I have also put up two pieces on Etsy.
Introducing Francois and Gwendolyn......
